Welcome to the Secret Garden's "Bigside"

At the Secret Garden, we understand that all children grow and develop at different rates, and we like to cater for each child's needs individually.

Moving up to the "Bigside" is something which occurs after consultation with parents, and when your child is ready to move, we arrange visits to these rooms to ensure a smooth and confident integration for each child.

Our Bigside unit has separate areas for quiet play, messy play, and education. In this part of the nursery, we follow the Foundation stage of the National Curriculum, and we a fully committed to working towards the early learning goals with the help of qualified teaching staff.

 

There is a classroom specifically designed for education based activities where the children work towards the Early Learning goals.

Each child has their own workbook, and are regularly assessed as part of an on-going process to monitor the child's development, and keep parents informed of their progress.

We also have computer based activites tailored for specific stages of development.

Fun French lessons are provided as part of the education programme for free.

The Bigside team consists of the floor manager, Mary, and her team of Sally, Steph, & Michelle, who work together to keep all the children involved in different activities throughout the day.

Creativity is an important part of a child's development, and children are encouraged to express themselves through art, design, and the use of textiles.

The staff, together with the children create imaginative and artistic displays which coincide with certain times of the year and revolve around specific themes and topics.
